Biography
Mike is a lifelong resident of Columbia, South Carolina. As a youth, he sang in his church choir at FBC-Columbia, but it was not until as an adult, while in Nashville, TN, that he discovered his talent for singing. This pivotal experience ignited a personal conviction that transformed his life, motivating him to begin ministering to others through song.
Since then, Mike has distinguished himself as a tenor soloist whose powerful voice has resonated with church congregations and organizations alike. He continues to deliver passionate performances that enhance worship services and special events. His tireless dedication to fostering vocal excellence across diverse settings has solidified his reputation as a beacon of musical integrity and inspiration.
Mike dedicated 31 years to serving his country in the United States Army, specifically with the South Carolina National Guard. As a highly decorated officer, he achieved numerous accomplishments throughout his distinguished career. Mike is an alumnus of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and holds an MBA in Business Administration. He is married to Meredith Mack Sturkie, and together they have two daughters, Elizabeth and Mary Austin.
